It is of high quality and delicate fabric. Due to this reason, most people think it difficult and tricky to wash or remove stains from velvet. They are not as confident in washing velvet clothes because they fear that their clothes will get damaged.

  • Removal of odor

 For removal of odor or smell of smoke, sweat, etc. It is best to soak that velvet item for 30 minutes in cool water. Also, mix one-fourth cup of scented vinegar which will make your clothes deodorize and smell clean.

  • Lint-Free Cleaning Cloth

This is a special type of cloth, and you can easily use it to wash velvet clothes. You can take off all the dirt and soap by using this cloth. Just be sure that you have removed all the soap. After then, moist the cloth and repeat the process until the stains are not removed.

  • Firstly, you must add 2 spoons of your favorite delicate wash to the basin or sink that is filled with cool water.

  • Whisk the water a little with your hands so that the soap should be evenly distributed.
  • Soak it for 30 minutes then rinse well and run it with another water that is not soapy.
  • Do not squeeze or twist the cloth.
  • Instead of this, just release the water out of it.
  • Just turn the cloth 2 to 3 times and then put the cloth in the Mesh washing bag.
  • Delicate Washing Of Velvet Clothes

You must follow these steps for this process:

  • You must choose the delicate cycle on the washing mashing and have to ensure that the temperature of the water is cold, and the spin is turned on low.
  • Add a specific amount of delicate wash according to the size of the cloth and machine.
  • One thing to keep in mind is not to wash the fabric with the materials that produce lint like jackets, towels, and sweaters.
  • Also, you must wash it with colors and fabrics which are similar to it.
  • After then, just lay the item so that it can be flattened and hung to dry.
  • You can also put the velvet cloth in the dryer by setting it on fluff mode to avoid shrinkage and to prevent it from appearing as crushed velvet.
  • After washing, you can steam the cloths so that they can be wrinkle-free.
  • Do not iron it as an iron will flatten the piles on velvet.

Steaming Velvet Clothes after Washing

After washing, if you want to make the velvet clothes fresh again then you can use steam to remove wrinkles from them. Hand-held steamers are mostly preferred. You must hold the steamer 6 inches away from the velvet clothes.

Afterward, run the steamer thoroughly. Along with this, spirit the freshener to smell it nice. If you don’t have handheld steamer, you can also hang the velvet clothes in the steamy bathroom by tapping on the hot shower. In this way, it becomes effective as a steamer.
